Water = Life

2022

This photograph was taken in Via Forte Marghera, Italy, where I was struck by the image of a decaying gondola—its structure slowly giving way to water and time. To me, it symbolised the impermanence of human creations. Surrounded by nature, the scene captures the duality of water: it is both a source of life and a force of destruction. In the context of climate change, water is a growing concern—rising seas threaten to engulf nations, even as overpopulation strains resources. Yet, this image also offers a quiet truth: even if human civilisation fades, nature endures. Water will continue to flow, and life will find a way to return.
